A funny thing happens when I start working with my ciients. They come in focusing and talking about ‘the thing’ thats consuming them with worry, frustration, or a cosmopolitan form of madness (tongue in cheek). The ‘thing’ has a strong narrative all of its own. Over time its become what the need, worry, block, or proof of righteousness is all about.
Only, it turns out, in truth, that’s only a small part of whats really going on.
Executives have a human way of unconsciously building a narrative, a belief, or a collective attitude, to something thats going on, and, over time, believing it is so.
Is it? Is this what’s really going on?
The way we know if we really know whats truly so, is we have a calm sense of inner certainty. Then, by contrast, We feel we’re standing on firm ground. We could fight to the death we feel so strong and empowered, when we ‘get’ the key to the solution. The key often comes in a mental flash moment which, in an instant, blows away all the mental and emotional fluff of the past.
What do we get? We get our power back, in a situation thats been stressful, seemingly endless, pressurised, and incomplete.
Nothing of the situation has changed. We’ve changed. We see what we didn’t see before. And now its all clear. We know exactly what to do, and how to do it. We’re back in the power of who we are, to execute our role with focus, precision, and confidence so that goals will certainly be achieved.
